UK CARP CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES

ENTRY RULES:

1. THE ORGANISERS OF THE EVENT, UK Carp Champs, HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OVER THE UK CARP CHAMPIONSHIPS, AS THE ORGANISERS, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ALTER OR AMEND THESE RULES AS AND WHEN NECESSARY. ULTIMATELY, THE COMPETITORS SHALL ACCEPT THAT ANY DECISION WE MAKE IS FINAL.
2. COMPETITORS ARE ENTERING THE COMPETITION WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THEY COULD LOSE ALL FEES PAID SHOULD THE RULES BE BROKEN AND THEY WILL BE BANNED FROM COMPETING. BY ENTERING OVER THE PHONE YOU ARE CONFIRMING YOU HAVE EITHER READ OR WILL READ THE RULES BEFORE PAYMENT IS SENT.
3. COMPETITORS MUST APPLY TO ENTER THE COMPETITION ONLINE,
4. A DEPOSIT OF £150 (Pairs) MUST BE MADE ON REGISTERING YOUR BOOKING AND IS NON REFUNDABLE SHOULD YOU NOT COMPLETE FINAL PAYMENT.
5. FINAL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED BY THE DATE SET IN THE VENUE SECTION, YOU WILL SEE THIS DURING THE BOOKING PROCESS. ONCE FINAL PAYMENT IS MADE THIS IS NON REFUNDABLE UNLESS ANOTHER PAYING COMPETITOR IS ABLE TO TAKE YOUR PLACE.
6. COMPETITORS ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER A MAXIMUM OF 2 QUALIFIERS, PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN FULL AS PER ALL OTHER COMPETITORS, HOWEVER IF YOU QUALIFY ON YOUR FIRST QUALIFIER AND YOUR SECOND QUALIFYING SPACE IS FILLED BY A PAYING COMPETITOR THEN A FULL REFUND IS PAID.
7. ALL ENTRANTS MUST BE IN POSSESSION OF THE CORRECT NUMBER OF ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ROD LICENCES, IF YOUR PARTNER NEEDS TO LEAVE THE SWIM FOR ANY REASON THEN YOU MUST HOLD 2 LICENCES. PLEASE CHECK ON ENTERING THAT YOU HAVE OR WILL HAVE THE CORRECT LICENCE/S.
8. THE ORGANISERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY COMPETITOR FROM ENTERING THE COMPETITION WITHOUT REASON OR PREJUDICE.
9. ANY EMPLOYEE OR OWNER OF UK CARP CHAMPS, ERICS ANGLING, TOTAL CARP, ANY FUTURE SPONSORS OR A BAILIFF FROM ONE OF OUR VENUE QUALIFIERS ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE COMPETITION. IN THIS INSTANCE A COMPETING PAIR FISHING IN THE NEXT PEG WILL BE ASKED TO VERIFY THE WEIGHING OF FISH TO SHOW COMPLETE CLARITY WITHIN OUR COMPETITION.

10. ONCE A PAIR HAVE COMPETED IN THEIR FIRST QUALIFIER THE PAIR CANNOT CHANGE PARTNERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. ALSO A PAIR CANNOT CHANGE SEMI FINALS IF THEY CANNOT MAKE THE DATE, PLEASE CHECK DATES OF SEMI FINALS AND THE FINAL. IF SOMEBODY COULDN’T MAKE IT THEN THE REMAINING ANGLER WOULD HAVE TO FISH ON HIS OWN AND ABIDE BY FISHERY RULES ON THE NUMBER OF RODS ALLOWED.

EVENT RULES:

1. THERE ARE 16 QUALIFYING EVENTS WITH an average of 12 PAIRS COMPETING IN EACH (some do have more and some less) SEE VENUE FILE FOR relevant information. THE TOP 3, 4 or 5 QUALIFYING PAIRS WILL GO THROUGH TO 1 OF 5 SEMI FINALS, SEE VENUE FILE FOR WHICH SEMI FINAL EACH QUALIFIER GOES INTO.
2. IN THE QUALIFIERS THE TOP 3, 4 or 5 OUT OF the 9, 12 or 15 GO THROUGH, IN THE SEMI FINALS THE TOP 3, 4 or 6 OUT OF the 12, 16 and 24 GO THROUGH. IN THE FINAL THE TOP 4 receive PRIZES.
3. QUALIFIERS, SEMI FINALS AND THE FINAL ARE ALL 48 HOUR MATCHES, STARTING ON THE FRIDAY AT 12PM AND FINISHING ON THE SUNDAY AT 12PM, UNLESS STATED ELSEWHERE ON THE VENUE FILE.
4. THE ORGANISERS WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW VENUE RULES UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED IN ADVANCE, BY ENTERING THE COMPETITION YOU ARE AGREEING TO ABIDE BY THE VENUE RULES AS WELL AS ANY SUBSEQUENT CHANGES BY THE ORGANISERS. THE COMPETITORS ALSO AGREE, IF A SUBJECT ARISES NOT IN THE RULES THE DECISION IS DOWN TO THE HEAD MARSHAL AS TO WHETHER ANY NECESSARY ACTION SHOULD TAKE PLACE.
5. COMPETITORS MUST REGISTER AT 08:45AM (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, ALL TIMINGS WILL BE CONFIRMED BY EMAIL), THE DRAW WILL TAKE PLACE AS SOON AS ALL COMPETITORS ARE REGISTERED. IF ANY COMPETITORS ARE RUNNING LATE THEN A DECISION WILL BE MADE BY THE HEAD MARSHAL IF TO DELAY THE DRAW. HIS DECISION IS FINAL, IF THE LATE COMPETITORS TURN UP AFTER THE DRAW THEY WILL BE ALLOWED TO FISH, BUT ONLY IN THE LAST PEG THAT NO OTHER COMPETITOR CHOSE.
6. IF YOU DO NOT TURN UP TO THE COMPETITION THEN NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
7. MARKING YOUR SWIM AND BAITING CAN COMMENCE AT 11AM ON THE SOUND OF THE FIRST HORN, YOU HAVE 1 HOUR UNTIL THE SECOND HORN, AT WHICH TIME BAITED RIGS CAN BE CAST INTO THE WATER AND THE MATCH BEGINS.
8. ALL MATCHES WILL BE DRAWN AS A WATERCRAFT DRAW, PLEASE ALLOW YOURSELF AMPLE TIME BEFORE THE DRAW TO MAKE NOTES OF YOUR SWIM CHOICES. THE HEAD MARSHAL WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DRAW AND HIS DECISION IS FINAL. ONCE ALL PEGS HAVE BEEN CHOSEN YOU CAN SET UP IN YOUR SWIM IN PREPARATION FOR THE FIRST HORN AT 11AM.
9. YOU CAN BAIT UP BY THE FOLLOWING METHODS: HAND, CATAPULT, THROWING STICK, SPOD, SPOMB, GROUNDBAIT SLING, PVA OR METHOD. ALL BAITING TO BE DONE NO FURTHER THAN ONE 12FT ROD LENGTH FROM YOUR PEG. I.E NO WALKING DOWN THE BANK TO BAIT UP.
10. YOU CANNOT USE BOATS, BAIT BOATS, BAITING SPOONS, SWIMMING OR WADING TO BAIT UP.
11. EACH PAIR IS ALLOWED 4 BAITED RODS IN THE WATER AT ANY ONE TIME, YOU CAN ALSO HAVE 4 RODS READY TO GO, AS WELL AS SPOD AND MARKERS. A BAITED ROD IS STILL CLASSED AS BAITED UNTIL THE FISH HAS BEEN NETTED. AFTER NETTING YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY RE-CAST ANOTHER ROD WHILST YOUR PARTNER TAKES CARE OF THE FISH.
12. IF A COMPETITOR IS FISHING ON THEIR OWN THEY CAN ONLY USE THE NUMBER OF RODS PERMITTED BY THE VENUE FOR 1 ANGLER.

12.1 ALL FISH MUST BE UNHOOKED AND RETAINED BEFORE RE-CASTING OF ANOTHER ROD, THIS IS TO ENSURE FISH SAFETY AT ALL TIMES.
13. ALL COMPETITORS AGREE THAT THEY WILL STAY WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THEIR SWIM, ALL SWIM BOUNDARIES WILL BE AGREED WITH THE MARSHALS BEFORE COMMENCEMENT OF THE FIRST HORN.
14. IF WE FEEL THESE RULES ARE BEING BREACHED THE MARSHAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE YOU MOVE YOUR RODS WITHIN YOUR BOUNDARY, PERSISTENT BREACHING OF THE SET BOUNDARIES CAN LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE COMPETITION.
15. WADING OUT FROM THE FRONT OF THE PEG IS ALLOWED FOR CASTING, BAITING UP OR LANDING FISH, UP TO ONE 12FT ROD LENGTH IN ANY DIRECTION. IF VENUE RULES DICTATE NO WADING THEN THIS WILL OVERRULE US AND NO WADING WILL BE ALLOWED AT ALL.
16. NO RUNNERS ARE ALLOWED.
17. COMPETITORS ARE REQUired TO BRING THEIR OWN SACKS/ KEEPNETS (VENUE RULE DEPENDANT) and or retention slings TO SECURE FISH THAT ARE NOT ABLE TO BE WEIGHED IMMEDIATELY. IT IS THE COMPETITORS RESPONSIBILITY TO SECURE THE FISH SAFELY; obviously ANY LOST FISH WILL NOT COUNT TOWARDS the TOTAL WEIGHT.
18. ALL FISH CAPTURES MUST BE REPORTED TO YOUR SECTION MARSHAL AS SOON AS THEY ARE LANDED and UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTIFIED BY THE MARSHAL ALL FISH are to be unhooked and retained in the net or retention sling UNTIL THEY ARE Arrive at the swim. any required changes to this procedure WILL BE CLARIFIED AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH MATCH.
19. THE MATCHES WILL BE DECIDED BY THE TOTAL WEIGHT OF FISH CAUGHT DURING THE 48 HOURS, IN THE EVENT OF A TIE THE WINNER WILL BE THE PAIR THAT CAUGHT THE MOST FISH. IF IT IS STILL TIED THEN IT WILL GO DOWN TO THE BIGGEST FISH FOLLOWED BY THE FASTEST FISH IF A WINNER COULD STILL NOT BE SEPARATED.
20. IF THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH FISH CAUGHT TO FILL THE QUALIFYING SPACES THEN A CAST OFF WILL TAKE PLACE TO DETERMINE THE FINISHING POSITIONS. THIS WILL BE BASED ON ACCURACY AND THE FORMAT WILL BE DECIDED ON THE DAY IN QUESTION BY THE HEAD MARSHAL.
21. THE ORGANISERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEARCH ANY COMPETING ANGLERS TACKLE OR CAR, ANY FORM OF CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL BE MADE PUBLIC IF PROVEN ALONG WITH A LIFETIME BAN FROM ANY FURTHER COMPETITIONS WE MAY RUN.
22. THE ORGANISERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ALTER ANY DATES/VENUES IN EXTREME CASES THAT WOULD BE DEEMED UNSAFE FOR EITHER FISH OR COMPETITOR.
23. IF A MATCH IS ENDED EARLY FOR ANY REASON THEN THE RESULT WILL STAND IF 24 HOURS OR MORE HAS PASSED. IF IT IS LESS THAN 24 HOURS THEN THE MATCH WILL BE REARRANGED FOR ANOTHER SUITABLE TIME AND VENUE.
24. IF ANY COMPETITOR WANTS TO MAKE A COMPLAINT ABOUT ANOTHER COMPETITOR THEN THEY NEED TO CONTACT THEIR SECTION MARSHAL IMMEDIATELY. ANY DELAY IN THE COMPLAINT COULD RESULT IN DELAYED ACTION. IF THE SECTION MARSHAL CANNOT SATISFY YOUR COMPLAINT THEN ULTIMATELY YOU CAN CONTACT THE EVENT ORGANISER AT ANY TIME DURING THE MATCH. DETAILS WILL BE ON THE VENUE FILE OF EACH QUALIFIER.
25. ANY COMPETITOR WISHING TO CHALLENGE THE RESULT OF A MATCH OR THE DECISION OF A MARSHALL, YOU NEED TO CONTACT THE ORGANISERS IMMEDIATELY TO REGISTER YOUR COMPLAINT. THE RESULT OR MARSHALS DECISION WILL STAND FOR 1 HOUR WHILST THE ORGANISERS COLLATE THE RELEVANT INFORMATION TO MAKE A FINAL DECISION.

FISH RULES:

1. ONLY COMMON, MIRROR, LEATHER CARP OVER 3LB WILL COUNT TOWARDS THE TOTAL WEIGHT. THIS INCLUDES GHOST CARP, MIRROR OR LEATHER VARIATIONS.
2. FISH MUST BE HOOKED IN THE MOUTH OR WITHIN 1INCH OF THE MOUTH TO COUNT. ANY FOUL HOOKED FISH MUST BE RETURNED IMMEDIATELY AND WILL NOT COUNT TOWARDS THE TOTAL WEIGHT.
3. ALL FISH MUST BE LANDED WITHOUT THE INTERFERENCE TO COMPETING ANGLERS LINES, HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE SO WE REQUEST GENTLEMANLY CONDUCT BETWEEN COMPETING PAIRS TO HELP EACH OTHER OUT IN THESE SITUATIONS. IF ARGUMENTS ARISE OVER PERSISTENT PROBLEMS THEN THE MARSHALS CAN DISQUALIFY A FISH FROM GOING TOWARDS TOTAL WEIGHTS. A FISH WEIGHT CANNOT BE TAKEN OFF IF THE COMPLAINT IS MADE TOO LATE.
4. ALL COMPETITORS MUST ABIDE BY THE MARSHALS TO REQUEST TO EITHER CALL IMMEDIATELY OR SECURE FISH FOR WEIGHING ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN NETTED. THIS IS VENUE DEPENDENT AND FURTHER CLARIFICATION ON PROCEDURES WILL BE MADE ON THE MORNING OF THE MATCH.
5. WHERE POSSIBLE ALL FISH TO BE WEIGHED BY AT LEAST 2 PEOPLE, THIS CAN BE A COMBINATION OF 2 MARSHALL’S OR 1 MARSHALL AND ANOTHER COMPETING PAIR. COMPETITORS AGREE TO WITNESS OTHER COMPETITORS CAPTURES IF REQUESTED TO DO SO BY A MARSHAL.
6. ALL FISH TO BE WEIGHED ON THE MARSHAL’S EQUIPMENT AND THE WEIGHT RECORDED AND SIGNED FOR ON BOTH THE MARSHAL’S SHEET AND THE COMPETITOR’S SHEET.
7. ALL FISH TO BE RETURNED TO THE WATER BY THE MARSHAL ONLY.
8. COMPETITORS AGREE TO TAKE PART IN ANY PHOTOS FOR PUBLICITY OF FISH CAPTURES OR PRESENTATIONS.
9. FISH MUST BE LANDED WITHIN A 12FT ROD LENGTH EITHER SIDE OF YOUR SWIM AND NO FURTHER THAN THE WADING RULE OUT FROM THE BANK.
10. ANY SNAGGED FISH WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE RETRIEVED WITH THE AID OF A BOAT, IF THE VENUE HAS ONE AND ALLOWS THIS. ANY COMPETING PAIR CAN ONLY HAVE ONE ATTEMPT AT LANDING THE FISH BY THIS METHOD, IF SUCCESSFUL THE FISH WILL COUNT BUT ANY SUBSEQUENT FISH WILL BE RETRIEVED FOR FISH SAFETY ONLY.
11. ANY FISH HOOKED JUST BEFORE THE FINAL HORN WILL COUNT IF LANDED WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF THE END. COMPETITORS MUST IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY A MARSHAL OR ANOTHER COMPETING PAIR TO WITNESS THE CAPTURE OR THE FISH WILL NOT COUNT.
